Fern forest on Waiheke Island

Enjoy a unique wellbeing-focused day with your team.

Our day starts with a facilitated session at your meeting location, custom-built around one of our wellbeing themes:

  • optimising your physical, mental or emotional wellbeing, or
  • maximising your performance at work.

Then we’ll move into a guided forest therapy experience.

Gabrielle Young has over 25 years experience facilitating leadership and team development in NZ and internationally. More recently, she has developed and taught a wellbeing programme in organisations, designed to help employees enhance their own wellbeing and develop resilience.

Gabrielle will lead your group through a series of invitations to deliberately slow down, and to become present and mindful, while gently walking in a beautiful location. We will conclude with a tea ceremony to integrate the experience.

She is an internationally accredited (ANFT) nature and forest therapy guide.

ABOUT THIS WALK

  • Depending on your requirements, we’ll either join you at your meeting location on Waiheke Island – or at the ferry terminal on Waiheke.
  • If we’re the first activity on your visit to Waiheke, we suggest that you catch the 9:00am Fullers ferry from downtown Auckland (trip to Waiheke takes approx 35 minutes)
  • Suggested times: 9:45am – 4:45pm.

Gabrielle is a great guide on the Forest Therapy Walk. The entire experience is very contemplative and refreshing as you slow way, way down to make your way slowly and deliberately along the path. Gabrielle is full of interesting facts and educational insights about the natural landscape, flora and fauna, and provides a calm guiding presence as you take the time to stop and enjoy what the New Zealand native bush has to offer. Definitely not your average walk or hike! Recommended if you find your mind racing and buzzing from a busy week – or addled from itineraries on your holiday. Lovely chance to get some peace and quiet.

Gabrielle’s Walking by Nature Wellness Walk was one of the most unique and uplifting experiences in nature I have had. I have done a lot of bush walking in NZ before, which I have loved, but never experienced nature so fully.
With Gabrielle’s guidance we experienced the restorative power of silence and reflection in the bush which was amazing. The birdlife and sounds of nature were incredible and I especially loved the tea ceremony using plants from the forest. If you want to experience the beauty of NZ bush with all its glorious sounds and birdlife with the chance to reflect and immerse yourself fully in the experience, this is highly worthwhile.

Step into the bush! With Gabrielle’s excellent guidance, time with slow down and you will rediscover your ever numbed senses. Fragrant Waiheke Island bush is healing with its cool breeze and songs of Tuis and cicadas. Time gets a different meaning all together. Last week’s experience still lingers on. An absolute must visit and experience!
