REVIEWS OF THE GREAT BARRIER WALK FOR WOMEN

Gorgeous Great Barrier

★★★★★

Really enjoyed spending time at Great Barrier Thursday to Sunday. Our accommodation at Trillium Lodge was outstanding - beautiful views, so comfortable. Did a fab coastal walk (Haratonga) - 12km, easy walking. Saw a lot of the island - perhaps too much driving? Very windy roads. Each morning we had 30 mins of yoga with Katerina which was excellent. Had a 'mindful nature walk' which isn't really my cup tea but I did see the point of it. Overall would have liked more walking and less driving however Gabrielle and Katerina were full of enthusiasm and did their best to give the group a great exerience. This trip is fairly new so feel it will get better with time. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't visited this lovely island.

Great Barrier Weekend

I thoroughly enjoyed our Walking By Nature adventure on Great Barrier Island. We had a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable and with the rare pateke duck visiting us at the back door and kakas in the fig tree, who could ask for more? I especially liked the conservation theme for the outings on Friday. Having the biologist there to show us the beach and the wading birds where I saw a golden pacific plover for the first time and so many dotterels – just unforgettable. Do count me in for further adventures. By the way I so enjoyed the food I went out and bought the cook book Gab was using!

Wonderful views and walks

Very special Barrier long weekend with great company and lots of unexpected little adventures along the way. Highlights - aside from the wonderful views, walks and water - centred around our planned and unplanned socialising with the locals. Specially enjoyed the Friday evening pizza and wine in the sunshine at The Hub in Port Fitzroy with yachtees, locals, dogs and kids. Oh, and the stunningly beautiful 30 minute charter flight back to Waiheke!
